  • A high school diploma with two years of experience, or an associate's degree in a medical or science-related field with one year of experience, or a bachelor's degree in a medical or science-related field with no prior experience.
  • Ability to understand visit schedules, criteria, and protocol requirements for low-complexity trials.
  • Ability to complete research protocol-related tasks, review medical records, enter study data, maintain documentation, resolve data queries, and maintain data integrity.
  • Ability to compile data for regulatory or sponsor submissions and support institutional review board reports or modifications.
  • Ability to recruit, screen, enroll, and consent research participants under required training and supervision.
  • Ability to collect and process specimens and perform study procedures such as phlebotomy, vital signs, and electrocardiograms when adequately trained and credentialed.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient and research information.
Responsibilities
  • Provide ongoing data management support for local, national, cooperative group, and federally funded clinical trials.
  • Ensure timely, accurate, and complete entry of protocol-required data; resolve routine data queries; manage overdue data; and support audit and monitoring readiness.
  • Collaborate with clinical research coordinators, quality assurance, data safety monitoring, regulatory affairs, and contract research organization study teams to standardize data management and improve data quality and regulatory compliance.
  • Use centralized dashboards and operational metrics to prioritize workload and support continuous process improvement.
  • Schedule research visits and assist research staff with protocol-related tasks.
  • Review and abstract medical-record information, including eligibility criteria.
  • Enter data into case report forms or other study data-collection systems and maintain study-level documentation.
  • Assist with data queries and edits for accuracy.
  • Compile data for regulatory requirements and local or sponsor submissions.
  • Maintain existing databases and perform quality assurance and quality control clinical analyses and data checks.
  • Prepare annual reports and institutional review board modifications, including reportable events when applicable.
  • Prepare research records for formal sponsor or internal audits.
  • Recruit and enroll patients, conduct participant screening and recruitment for more complex trials, and conduct and document informed consent under required supervision.
  • Identify incomplete, inaccurate, or missing data for complex studies and work with the lead coordinator to correct errors.
  • Order and maintain research supplies and ensure equipment is in good working order.
  • Prepare studies for closeout, including packing and documenting files for storage and returning extra supplies to sponsors.
  • Perform study procedures and basic patient care within the applicable scope of work under investigator direction.
  • Maintain, modify, release, or otherwise affect patient and human-subjects research records as part of assigned core functions.

  • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation and automated external defibrillator certification may be required based on affiliate location requirements.
